Fantastic energy-focused discussions took place in Rome, Italy, where LEAPto11 partners gathered on 20–21 February to boost progress under Article 11 of the revised Energy Efficiency Directive (EED).
The meeting featured both consortium sessions, where partners presented updates on their respective tasks and work packages, and technical sessions, which delved deeper into practical solutions for improving energy efficiency across Europe.
The focus on the technical sessions was on:
- Standardising digital data for accurate benchmarking – with a particular emphasis on strengthening water data collection and quality.
- Providing vital financial support for SMEs and public authorities to help implement energy-saving measures.
- Using tools such as ISGE and MSEE to support improved tracking and performance monitoring.
While significant progress is being made, challenges persist, especially in the monitoring of implementation and the varying degrees of enforcement across EU Member States.
The Rome meeting marked an important step forward in aligning partners’ efforts and reinforcing the commitment to effective, data-driven energy efficiency .
